Amazing mixes can be made using the “Panning pockets” tip. While doing LCR panning, open up some pockets of space to squeeze in percussion and delay sounds. In a modern DAW or mixing console you could pan anywhere in between. Panning pockets in the mixes work quite well. This not only gives a wide and clear mix with plenty of separation, it also opens up some pockets in between the 3 panning points for some final supplemental tracks.
